Calgary-Hays: Chris Nowell

Chris Nowell was born and raised in Alberta, where he met his wife of 15 years, Angie, and earned a Computer Science degree at the University of Lethbridge.  Chris has worked in Fort McMurray for Syncrude, as well as in the Office of the Auditor General of Alberta, ensuring that the Government was kept accountable on systems and cybersecurity.

Chris started a Calgary-based Cybersecurity Company that protects public sector and private business computers in Calgary and around the world.

In the middle of his career, he earned a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and worked for Fortune 50, in Silicon Valley, as well as other critical infrastructure companies primarily in the United States, Mexico, and Brazil.  After living in the United States and seeing the chaos and violence that comes with right-wing American policies, Chris returned to Calgary to raise his children. Chris lives in McKenzie Towne and works in Douglasdale and has never been happier.

In addition to securing businesses and helping them navigate the complexity of regulations spanning credit card compliance to global privacy and Alberta health security requirements, Chris volunteers to teach school and community groups about Internet safety and cyberbullying prevention.

“As business owners and parents of two young children, Angie and I want Alberta to remain open for business with Canadian values and free from extreme left- and right-wing politics that threaten to polarize our beloved province.”
