Moira Váně is no stranger to Sherwood Park, spending many hours in the community and courthouse prosecuting cases. Moira is a mother of two, and is passionate about ensuring our children are taught in first class schools and have access to the best healthcare.
As a Crown Prosecutor for both the provincial and federal governments between 2003 and 2017, Moira has experience handling a wide variety of criminal cases and also specialized in regulatory prosecutions across Alberta. She has spent her career fighting for families, as much of her work as a prosecutor focused on workplace safety files seeking justice for families after losing a loved one on the job.
Passionate about giving back to her community, Moira has served on several committees, including acting as the Vice President of the Alberta Crown Attorneys Association. She has extensive experience on condominium boards and was named a “Top 40 under 40” by Edmonton’s Avenue magazine in 2009.
Moira was born and raised in Yellowknife but has lived in Alberta for 20 years. Along with her law degree from the University of Alberta, Moira holds an undergraduate degree in Criminology from Simon Fraser University.
